Pay & Hours:

  • £12.50 per hour
  • 36.75 hours per week
  • Days – 12 hour shifts
  • Working on a rota covering 7 days per week (every other weekend)
  • £500 welcome bonus (£250 to be paid at 2 milestones).

The Role:

You will oversee the care team and ensure the safe delivery of care, support and medication with all standards met during your shift. You will be fully supported by both the Deputy and Residential Manager. Main responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Coach and mentor new and existing staff
  • Review care plans
  • Personal care (washing, dressing, oral hygiene)
  • Maintain and develop professional relations with families
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns
  • Promote independence of our residents at all times to improve their quality of life
  • Prepare, administer, store, record and order medication

About you:

  • Have an NVQ Level 2 in Care however this is not essential as our Team Leader Development Programme will support those wanting to take the next step in their career
  • Be confident in supervising others and be able to manage/prioritise workloads
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Have a positive attitude.

The Birches offers both accommodation and support tailored to individuals living with learning disabilities and related support requirements. Our facility consists of four accessible bungalows and two flats, providing a comfortable home for up to 31 individuals aged 18 and above. Our dedicated support team at The Birches collaborates closely with each resident to deliver personalised services that unlock their potential, enrich their lifestyles, and cater to their unique needs. The thoughtful design of our bungalows and flats creates a warm and homely atmosphere, fostering a sense of belonging for all residents.
