Cranwell Court is delighted to have been classed as GOOD in all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The team at The HICA Group’s Cranwell Court, on Cambridge Street have been celebrating after receiving the accolade.
The CQC’s robust inspection process gives care homes a rating of Outstanding, Good, Requiring Improvement or Inadequate based on five categories. Cranwell Court, which cares for up to 58 residents, received high marks in all five categories: safety, effectiveness, care, responsive, and well-led.
The CQC inspectors noted that “people received a caring and effective service” and that “people’s rooms were personalised, and communal areas were homely.” Inspectors also praised the professionalism of the care team at the home. They noted that the team were well equipped to meet the needs of residents, while also making sure they had as much independence as possible.
Residents and their relatives also told the inspectors how much they enjoyed living at Cranwell Court. The report wrote that one relative said, “The staff are caring and kind and couldn’t be any better”
Sharon Long, Manager of the care home, was thrilled that the CQC had recognised the high standards and hard work of herself and especially her team.
She said: “We are all delighted of the GOOD rating the CQC has given us. Everybody here works really hard to make sure Cranwell Court is a fantastic place for older people to live. Getting this recognition from the CQC is just what our team deserves!”
“We all pride ourselves on delivering individualised and person-centred care to enable our residents to have maximum choice and to live as fulfilling a life as possible. While we are delighted to have received such a positive inspection, we won’t be resting on our laurels and are always looking at ways to improve.”
HICA CEO said, “We are delighted to have Cranwell Court recognised as GOOD by CQC. Cranwell Court joined the HICA family in 2020 and this result has shown what a great achievement the transition has been. Our congratulation go the wonderful team at Cranwell Court. With them in place we are sure that the home will go from strength to strength.”
