Fun filled days at HICA

We have a wonderful, dedicated team of activity coordinators across the HICA Group. Our activity coordinators plan fun filled calendars with events from outings to arts and crafts, creating inclusive activities to suit all abilities.

Recently Kirkgate House our Learning Disability home in Bridlington have been making the most of the warmer with many trips out alongside many in home activities.

About Kirkgate house – Our aim is to look after the people we support in the best possible way in a homely environment creating an atmosphere to meet the needs of the individual. At Kirkgate House we passionately believe that all the people we support, no matter how complex their needs, should not miss out on any opportunities in life.

Kirkgate House supports up to 28 individuals aged 18 and over with a learning disability and associated care and support needs.

Each person who chooses to live at Kirkgate House is supported to develop a person-centred support plan which embraces their lifestyle choices whilst ensuring their individual support needs are met and that they are able to then fulfil their potential.

The team at Kirkgate are specialised in supporting people with Down Syndrome as well as providing support to individuals who have dementia and are ageing. The team are adept at meeting the changing needs of people and recognising the needs and responding appropriately to enable people to continue to be in control of their own lives.
