A colourful range of Christmas cards have been chosen as this year’s winners in the annual HICA Group Christmas Card competition.
Ten cards were chosen from over 170 entries submitted by residents in the competition run by throughout each of HICA’s services.
Winners were Yvonne Hepton and Adrian Waddell, service users from HICA at Home – Doncaster, Brian Young from Kirkgate House, Irene Shaw from Albemarle, Desmond Fowler from The Birches, Joyce Sharp and Susan Long from Sunningdale Court. The Lodge, Tamarix Lodge and Red House were also winners with their designs that were part of a group effort.
Hica Group chief executive, Terry Peel, said: “We were amazed by the amount of entries the Christmas card competition attracted this year, and the standard was very high. Which, of course, made judging the competition very difficult. It took a long time but the final choices are outstanding!”.
“The residents and staff really enjoy getting into the festive spirit and creating the cards. It’s a great activity which brings everyone together at such an important time of the year.”
Each winner receives a prize along with a set of printed Christmas cards featuring their design.
