Each Year Hull Live run their Health and Care awards to celebrate the hard work of individuals and teams within the Health and Care industry. We are delighted to announce that several of our staff members and teams have reached the final of the HullLive Health & Care Awards 2021!!!

Elm Tree Court are a finalist in the Category Care Home of the Year
Amanda Peacock, a carer from HICA at Home is a finalist for Carer of the Year
At The HICA Group we are very proud of all our dedicated hardworking staff across our services and are delighted to see some of our many exemplary staff being recognised for their dedication to their service users and colleagues.
Carer of the Year finalist
Amanda Peacock is a care worker for HICA at Home who has a great reputation for her loyalty and dedication to service users, their families and her colleagues. She was awarded by HICA ‘Carer of the Month’, sometimes working seven days a week during the pandemic and refusing to let services users down even in her times of need. She went above and beyond in her own time to support a service user and their family during their time of need.
Care Home of the Year finalist
Elm Tree Court continued to deliver exemplary care and supported staff throughout the pandemic. Family and friends were constantly involved in virtual resident meetings, Throughout the pandemic Elm tree Court worked to ‘bring the outside in’ to ensure residents missed out on as few experiences as possible. Elm Tree created its own in-house: café, pub, snooker hall, cinema, sensory room, allotment, secret garden, shop and Coronation Street themed room.
Covid Hero Award finalist
Margaret Walker and her team at Overton House worked tirelessly over the pandemic to care for those with dementia, with not one resident in the home contracting the virus. Training and procedures were instantly rolled out, families were kept fully up-to-date, and they created a series of fun events and activities including their own in-house Hull Fair to ensure residents’ wellbeing.
