Carer of the Year finalist
Amanda Peacock is a care worker for HICA at Home who has a great reputation for her loyalty and dedication to service users, their families and her colleagues. She has often worked above and beyond, sometimes working seven days a week during the pandemic and refusing to let services users down even in her personal times of need. She recently went above and beyond in her own time to support a service user and their family during their time of need.
She has developed and maintained a great reputation and is well-liked and respected by all the Service Users she visits and their families, along with her colleagues and the office team.
Throughout Amanda’s time with HICA, she has received numerous compliments from Service Users, their families, other carers and the office staff and has often been nominated for ‘Carer of the month’ which was awarded to Amanda in October 2020.
When the pandemic hit, it was a worrying time for Amanda. She faced her own personal struggles but didn’t let this affect her dedication to her service users.
When Amanda’s back-to-back carer was absent from work, Amanda picked up the extra days and sometimes worked 7 days a week. This ensured there were limited carers attending the calls of each of the Service Users to reduce the number of people each person was in contact with therefore reducing the risk of them being exposed to Covid-19.
We are very proud to have Amanda as part of the HICA family and wish to congratulate her on reaching the final of the Hull Live Health and Care Awards 2021! Well Done!
