Jon joined the board in April 2018. He works across the ‘not for profit sector’ as an organisational change specialist. His passion is to work with organisations that support vulnerable clients whether that’s age or learning disabilities related. Originally an educationalist Jon completed his degree in York and has worked across the UK in a range of senior positions that include: Emotional Behavioural Difficulties Schools, Head Teacher of an ASD School, Principal of a Specialist Residential College PMLD, and CEO of an Industrial Provident Society that included running a Specialist College and Residential Therapeutic Community – living onsite. Jon was appointed an Ofsted Inspector to the Post 16 Specialist Provision in 2005, but says he has given up frightening people. He has led research and development for Government funding agencies – and used his investment in innovation, organisational development and social enterprise to work alongside other providers and Local authorities and charities. In the last 20 years Jon has been involved in a wide range of care organisations and has a particular interest in how homes and services can be part of their local communities and interact safely. He believes that our staff make HICA an outstanding organisation to work for – and be part of.
