We are delighted to announce that one of our Hull-based specialist care homes will soon joining other HICA homes The Lodge in Chorley and The Wolds Care Centre in Louth in the provision of Nursing Services.
Residential care homes help people who can no longer manage to look after themselves at home due to frailty, mobility problems or other issues that may occur with older age.
Nursing services within a HICA home still meet all the residential care needs of residents, including, feeding, dressing, toileting, and social interaction. However, it also includes more complex care and support. For example, PEG feeding, walking support and palliative care.
Manager Tom Armstrong said, “Life expectancy for people who live in care home is rising and with this rise the needs and requirements of residents changes. We made the decision to provide nursing services at Raleigh Court so we can provide a fuller service to address these additional needs.”
The 22-bed community will officially open early in 2023 when there will be an Open Day where people can come along and see the new facilities.
Tom continued, “As Raleigh Court is very much a community service, we have decided to let the community name the new nursing facility. So we invite anyone to send us their suggestions and the person who ultimately suggests the new name shall win a prize and be invited to the grand opening. Send your suggestions to tom.armstrong@hica-uk.com”
Like every older person home in the HICA portfolio, Raleigh Court provides residential and specialist dementia care for both long and short stays.
