The HICA Group are currently recruiting for a passionate Cook/Kitchen Assistant to work on a Casual basis at our home for older people and those living with dementia in Grimsby, Cranwell Court.

Pay & Hours:

• Rate of Pay – £10.50 per hour
• Hours – 8am – 5pm
• Shift Pattern – Working to a rota covering 7 days per week (every other weekend)

Hours / shifts can be discussed at interview as they are flexible however the successful candidate can expect to work a least 3 days per week and to cover staff training, annual leave and sickness.

The Role:

• You will prepare and serve food and drinks to our Service Users.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen area is up to the highest standard.
• Be aware of specific needs and preferences from our Service Users.
• Keeping cleaning products safely stored as well as ordering cleaning products for the kitchen.
• Using a person-centred approach towards our Service Users during meal times.

About you:

• Working towards or holds a relevant NVQ Basic Food Hygiene qualification.
• Previous experience of working in a Kitchen environment.
• Excellent knowledge of individual dietary needs.
• A good understanding of those with challenging behaviours.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Cranwell Court is a 56 bed Care Home split between a 17 bedded enhanced dementia unit and a 39 bed residential development situated on Cambridge Road in Grimsby. Set in its own beautiful grounds Cranwell Court comprises of a range of spacious , self contained apartments with kitchen and bathroom facilities, giving residents their own front door and private space. We are rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and bring the very latest in care and facilities for older people into the heart of Grimsby.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check .
