Apprentice Painter & Decorator- Buckshaw Retirement Village

We currently have an opportunity to join as as an Apprentice Painter & Decorator. We are looking for someone who has completed 1 or 2 years of their apprenticeship and looking for a new employer to complete their scheme. Training will be delivered both on the job and off the job through a local training provider.

We are looking for a Painter and Decorator Apprentice to work in and around our retirement village based in between Leyland and Chorley. The village offers options for ownership and rental in an attractive and well-appointed location. The site also houses our purpose-built, specialist dementia nursing home which has a range of on-site facilities and regular activities.

You will learn and assist with the following tasks:

Carry out pre and post inspections of occupied apartments
Carry out a range of external and internal painting and redecoration tasks
Prepare and clean surfaces using handheld power tools and the appropriate methods.
Complete records as required
Liaise and work with all other trades providing technical advice as and when required.
To self-manage and audit all work carried out in agreement with the maintenance manager.
To ensure all work is carried out in a safe, proper and thorough manner taking into account Health and Safety legislation, HICA Policies and procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
To work safely at heights, internally and externally using appropriate access equipment such as a tower scaffold.
To maintain at all times a pleasant and courteous demeanour and give excellent customer service.
To highlight any areas of safety or decorative concern that might impact on a safe and healthy environment for service users.

professional and enthusiastic individual with a caring and supportive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccination status.
