Handy Person – Kirkgate House

Situated in the beautiful seaside town of Bridlington, Kirkgate House supports up to 28 individuals aged 18 and over with a learning disability and associated care and support needs.

The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

Pay & Hours:

  • Rate of Pay – £11.50 per hour
  • Hours of Work – 36 hours per week

The Role:

The successful candidate will carry out inspections, repairs and general maintenance throughout the service, whilst ensuring all paperwork and records are kept up to date with accurate information. You will also be required to undertake the redecoration of all areas of the home, including communal areas and bedroom to ensure we are able to provide a welcoming and pleasant environment for our service users.

About you:

  • Previous experience of general repairs, maintenance and decorating
  • Mechanical or electrical qualifications
  • Good DIY skills and a knowledge of tools/equipment
  • The ability to work unsupervised and using own initiative

About us:

Kirkgate compromises of 5 individual living areas each with its own lounge, kitchen and dining areas supporting adults with learning disabilities with long term residential support. We have a Garden Room which enables people to socialise with their housemates. The home has 2 apartments for people requiring minimal support yet still needing the feeling of security and support a care home can offer.

The HICA Group is a ‘Not for Profit’ organisation providing a range of care services to elderly clients and people with learning difficulties, across a range of services, including our care homes, residential settings and in the community.

Successful candidates are required to obtain an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
